It is led by an experienced team of former CDC (now British International Investment) and Actis investment professionals based in South Africa and the UK with prior corporate experience at Heineken, McKinsey & Company, Goldman Sachs, and PwC, a passion for nature, an operations-led entrepreneurial mindset and a commitment to making a lasting impact through commercial investments.

Collectively, the team has been instrumental in originating and executing investments at the frontier of private equity for several decades, where necessary by leveraging innovative partnerships between the private and public sectors.

Natural Heritage is building a portfolio of nature-positive commercial investments, initially on a deal-by-deal basis: in food system innovations, responsible agriculture, sustainable building materials, carbon projects, ecotourism, and renewable energy. In parallel, it is exploring the establishment of landscape-scale investment platforms in partnership with leading land stewards.
